The Nazca Lines

There are hundreds of individual figures, depicting animals, plants, and people. Some figures are simple, while others have many details.
The lines were made by removing the reddish-brown iron oxide pebbles that cover the surface of the Nazca desert. The Nasca people then used cotton rope to create the lines that they wanted to draw. Archaeologists believe that this was done by dragging heavy stones over wet clay to create these giant drawings.
